Why Christmas Eve Is My Absolute Favourite Day Ever
Christmas Eve is finally here, and honestly, I have been excited about this day since… well, last Christmas Eve. There is just something extra special about it. The North Pole feels warmer, the lights sparkle a bit brighter, and everyone walks around with smiles that look like they might burst right off their faces.
One of my favourite things about Christmas Eve is spending time with my family and friends. Things are busy, yes, but they are the good kind of busy. The kind where everyone helps each other, laughs a lot, and sneaks hugs in between jobs. We gather together whenever we can, share stories from the year, and remind each other why Christmas means so much to us all.
Ho ho ho! Even Santa’s workshop needs a little help now and then. If you enjoy our updates, a tiny sprinkle of support helps keep The North Pole Times merry and bright for children everywhere.
Then there are the festive treats. Oh wow. Christmas Eve treats are the best treats. I enjoy candy canes, gingerbread, mince pies, chocolate, and anything else that looks even slightly Christmassy. Some elves say there is such a thing as too many treats. Those elves are mistaken. Very mistaken.
Music is another big part of my Christmas Eve happiness. You will usually find me singing at the top of my lungs while helping out, whether anyone asked me to or not. My favourite Christmas song is a real toss up between Slade’s Merry Xmas Everybody and Wizzard’s I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday. Both are perfect for dancing around the workshop and spreading festive cheer. Singing makes everything feel lighter, even when there is still lots to do.
Of course, Christmas Eve also makes me think about the Nice List and the Naughty List. I will admit something. One year, a long time ago, I ended up on the Naughty List and only received a lump of coal in my stocking. It was very black, very lumpy, and very disappointing. I learned my lesson right away. Since then, I have tried my absolute best to be as Nice as I can be every single year. Trust me, once is more than enough when it comes to coal.
As Christmas Eve comes to an end, I start thinking about Christmas Day. Opening presents is one of my favourite moments of all. The excitement, the surprises, and the joy of seeing what Santa has delivered never gets old. Not even a little bit.
After such a busy Christmas period, I am also really looking forward to relaxing. Putting my feet up, enjoying leftovers, and spending quiet time with friends sounds perfect.
From me to you, I hope your Christmas Eve is full of magic, laughter, and kindness. Merry Christmas everyone.
