How to be nice…

Around this time of year, I start to receive lots of letters from boys and girls asking me how they can be sure they'll be on my Nice List before I set off to deliver Christmas presents all over the world.

Well, I thought I would share my top tips for being nice and to ensure you don't end up on my Naughty List for Christmas.

Always tell the truth

Nobody likes a liar, especially Santa. Lying is something naughty people do and it liars are people that cannot be trusted. So no matter how difficult it might be, or what might happen, always tell the truth - especially to your mummy and daddy. It's always better to tell the truth than become a liar.

Treat others how you want to be treated

There's nothing worse than being friends with someone who is a meanie. Like somebody who takes your favourite Hot Wheels Car or your Barbie doll off you, especially without asking first. If you are nice to ther people, they will be nice to you.

Be polite

It's amazing what a difference being polite can make. Boys and girls who say "please" and "thank you" are always going to end up on the Nice List. Being rude, however, is a sure fire way of making it straight to my Naughty List! So remember to be polite wherever you can.

Help others

Do you remember when you couldn't climb across the balance beam in the park without help? Or when you got upset when going to school? Well when that happened, your mummy or daddy were probably there to help you when things got tough, so why don't you think about how you could help somebody else too? Maybe when you see somebody following behind you through a door, you could hold it open for them? Or if you see somebody struggling to carry a heavy bag, maybe you could help them?
