How I Keep Everyone Motivated at the North Pole
Well, would you look at that - it’s already the 5th of December! Hard to believe, isn’t it? Just twenty more sleeps until Christmas, and the buzz up here at the North Pole is enough to power the sleigh on excitement alone.
Now, between you and me, keeping the crew motivated this close to the big day takes a bit more than fairy dust. The elves are working flat out in the workshop, the reindeer are up early each morning training, and Mrs Claus is keeping us all going with her legendary peppermint biscuits. Still, even when we’re knee-deep in wrapping paper and toy parts, keeping the mood merry is absolutely key.
Every morning kicks off with our “Jingle Jolt” meeting. The elves gather, the music starts - usually something upbeat chosen by Buddy the Elf on his candy-cane drum - and we give a big cheer for all the toys completed the day before. You should see their faces light up when their work gets a shoutout. Then, I give them a quick reminder of why we do all this in the first place: to bring joy to children across the world. That little reminder always brings a sparkle to their eyes - brighter than the tree in the town square.
The reindeer? They’re a whole different story. Motivation for them means one thing: healthy competition. They absolutely love their training flights. I’m there on the sidelines, cheering them on as they zip through the frosty skies. Rudolph still leads the pack, but Dasher and Vixen are closing the gap fast this year. We keep it playful with a game we call “Sleigh Tag” -a fast-paced race with extra points for style and teamwork. Honestly, you’ve never seen a happier bunch of flying reindeer.
Once the day winds down, everyone gathers in the Great Hall for hot cocoa, biscuits, and a few stories from Christmases gone by. It’s a little tradition of ours - a reminder that we’re more than a team; we’re a family. And every snow-dusted sleigh ride, toy built, and sparkle of glitter is part of something bigger.
So, that’s our secret to staying motivated: a dash of fun, a heap of heart, and never losing sight of what Christmas really means. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a few toys to check - and maybe, just maybe, room for one more biscuit.
